Lane Frank

I’m a sports reporter and I host Schoolyard Sports. I’ve spent six years in sports media: a weekly live TV spot on ABC 7 starting at 16, live radio on ESPN 600, 266+ podcast episodes where I interview the biggest names in sports, and two years working on the business side of college football on UTEP’s NIL Advisory Board. I’m now a freshman at the University of Michigan and a member of the Michigan Sports Venture Group.

Mark Jackson on Ryan Field and the Business of a New Stadium

Watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VI9sC50olEQ

From my case study on Northwestern’s Ryan Field: my conversation with athletic director Mark Jackson about building a stadium designed to be, in Jackson’s words, “the only stadium in the country your couch can’t compete with.” In my Excellent Leadership Spotlight segment, I dig into the thinking behind the project — facilities, fan experience, and the money behind both.

My Radio Segment — Live on Air

A clip of me hosting live radio. I joined ESPN 600 in El Paso with a weekly show in 2022, and at 15 I hosted the station’s three-hour show for a full week while its longtime host covered the Super Bowl — I carried segments, reacted to the day’s headlines, and filled live airtime on my own.
